In the wake of a cash crunch and demonetization, the famous MobiKwik tied up with the revered dairy cooperative Amul. As it seems, the association shall help Amul’s consumers make cashless payments at over 7,000 Amul outlets and 3 Lakh Amul Multi-brand retailers and outlets throughout the country. Being one of the largest networks in India Amul has its operations spread to the distant corners of this nation. And so, in the lure of the on-going cash crunch all over the country it is of crucial importance to make adjustments in means of payment accordingly. This is where the cashless payments come in and hence, the tie up shall help enormously on the same.
Managing Director at the Gujurat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd, which is popularly known as Amul, R. S. Sodhi said,
At the time of less cash economy, we will be accepting payments made with MobiKwik wallet through this pan-India initiative. The step has been taken in due consideration of our million consumers and over 3 Lakh retailers and 7,000 authorized dealers of dairy and milk products.
According to him, the tie up shall help Amul to provide quick returns and remunerative to the 3.6 million milk producers or farmers at their disposal. The ease in mode of payment is significantly crucial as all of their livelihoods are dependent upon the sale of milk to the cooperative structure of Amul.
As per records, MobiKwik is in the forefront of India’s mission of cashless payments, and through this tie up, the company shall be catering to the dairy market that is valued at Rs. 80,000 Crore at present. As it happens, milk or diary is consistently a daily requirement within the country, with curd and mlk being the primary dietary preferences of most.
The Co-founder at MobiKwik, Bipin Preet Singh, spoke about the synonymy of MobiKwik with seamless payments. It is their constant endeavor to achieve being ubiquitous with MobiKwik payments.
He further added,
With this tie-up, Amul product buyers now across the country will be able to use MobiKwik to make payments for their daily dairy purchase without any hassle. We are honored to provide a helping hand to Indians at this stage of adaptation of an evolved and elegant less cash economy.
With lots of firsts to its credits, MobiKwik is undoubtedly the leading wallet in the country. The mobile wallet initiative was launched by the company within the country in the year 2009. Since those days, MobiKwik has introduced and involved innovations, such as cash loading in the wallet through the cash pick-up method, Bubble Pin, which enables offline payments through mobile wallet without any network, nearby feature, and cash deposit. This November, the company added over 1.5 Lakh retailers to its network and is expecting to fulfill its 2.5 Lakh worth network reach within the country shortly.
With the tie-up, it is evident that cashless economy has taken the nation by storm. A large number of transactions are to be made without the green notes which in return will certainly lead to a much more promising future and a stronger economy thereafter.
